About Morningside Kitchen Restaurant in Atlanta
Morningside Kitchen opened in Spring 2016 to a crowded dining room, eager to taste the wood-fire grilled meats and fish, the Peruvian-style charcoal rotisserie chicken, and other dishes on the menu created by the restaurant's team of talented chefs.
With such talented chefs behind Morningside Kitchen, you would expect it to become one of the best restaurants in Atlanta drawing diners from far away, but this restaurant's real desire is to be known as the favorite weekly "go-to" dining destination for residents in the immediate neighborhoods.
Together with other team members from sister restaurant Murphy's, they transformed the former Rosebud location in Morningside, now creatively redesigned by architect Mary Turnipseed. Antique brick walls, vintage wood floors, dramatic lighting and cozy seating make this a friendly spot where neighbors enjoy conversation over dinner or weekend brunch.
Owner Tom Murphy said “We spent a lot of time listening to the people who live right here. The term ‘neighborhood restaurant’ gets thrown around a lot, but this restaurant truly is that.”
A fabulous bar and lounge area became the neighborhood gathering spot, pouring creative cocktails, craft beers and exceptional wines by the glass or bottle chosen by our beverage director for our drinks, wine and beers menu. Quickly becoming favorites with diners are the house old fashioned cocktail, and the Morningside Sangria, a blend of chardonnay, tea, agave, rum, and peach brandy.
The restaurant opens daily at 5 p.m. with a dinner menu featuring small plates to share, affordable salads and burgers, but starring the dinner plates of wood-grilled fish, steaks, meats, and charcoal rotisserie chicken.
Starting May 14, 2016, the restaurant began serving weekend brunch from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. While nearby Murphy's is already known as being "Atlanta's best brunch," Morningside Kitchen is equally good but differs by accepting brunch reservations for the unique brunch menu featuring cage-free eggs, local bacon and sausage, and locally-roasted espresso.
Morningside Kitchen is near downtown Atlanta, midtown and Emory University at 1397 N. Highland Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30306.
